OnePlus’ Compact Phone Isn’t Coming to the US or Europe – Here’s Why That Stings

If you were excited about the OnePlus 13T—the slightly smaller alternative to the brand’s usual large flagships—you might want to sit down. OnePlus has confirmed to The Verge that the phone won’t be making its way to Europe or North America. For now, if you want a OnePlus device, you’re stuck with “big” or “bigger.”

The 13T (or 13S, as it’s called in India) isn’t completely confined to China, but its limited availability still leaves Western markets out in the cold. OnePlus’ European and North American teams delivered nearly identical statements: there are “no plans” to launch the device in those regions, though they’ve “noted the interest” from users.

Now, before anyone argues that a 6.3-inch display doesn’t qualify as “compact,” let’s be real—this is small by today’s standards. Compared to the 6.8-inch behemoths that are the OnePlus 13 and 13R, the 13T is downright petite. Even more impressive? It packs a larger battery than its bigger siblings, thanks to new silicon-carbon tech.

So, to recap: a (relatively) smaller phone with potentially better battery life? Sounds like a dream for anyone tired of phablets. Too bad we won’t get to try it.
